Obaa Yaa Atuahene, CEO of Chez Dubie, is a professional braid stylist and wigmaker. What began as an activity amongst friends soon became an outlet to express her creative side. Blessed with a natural God-given talent and harnessed over the years, her skills, impeccable customer service, and experience continue to set her apart in the hair & beauty industry.

Though an analyst by day, Obaa Yaa’s passion is in her profession as a braid stylist and wigmaker. She enjoys making women feel comfortable, confident, and unapologetic in rocking their glory, whether in a braid style or wig. She is also passionate about transferring the knowledge and skills to young individuals looking to pursue their dreams in this industry.

Obaa was inspired to create Chez Dubie after years of experimenting and playing with hair. After a bad experience coloring her natural hair in college, she would soon learn about the versatility of a wig and how to express her creative side. Starting with wig construction and customization, she launched the brand to cater to the everyday black woman whose hair is underappreciated and underrepresented.

Today, Chez Dubie is not limited to only wigs and hair extensions. The brand offers a wide range of services from natural hair care maintenance, protective styles to hair extension coloring services.

More than anything else, it is important for our clients to know that braids do not have to be painfully unbearable neither do colored wigs have to be “ghetto” or “fake”. In embracing who we truly are, we allow the world to adjust and accept what is beautiful and culturally expressive. And we do so by providing you with the Chez Dubie Effect.
